i recently installed iLife, MS Office, and CS2 on my 1.67 1.5 ram powerbook. i noticed a huge difference in lag time. it seems to process everything slower, loads program slower, and stalls for a few seconds a lot.
i also noticed that the MS programs like MS Word eats up a lot of memory - why is this?

In reverse, MS products just take a lot of memory. Office is a powerful suite, and Word is a monster of a program. Also, Office is scripted through Visual Basic, so that's floating around in it's code also.

Try optmizing your system using Mac Sweeper or Onyx. I prefer Onyx now. Start with that utility.

Basicly, the freeware optmizers (and I would bet some of the share/payware) optmizers use routeens that are already a part of OSX.

thanks. i will try Onyx out today.

i read the description of the program - but how will the program help my PB specifically? i've noticed that some computers get harmed by p2p software. that is why i have absolutley NO p2p stuff on my computer.
i don't know what the source of the lag is?
