So, I have made no bones about the fact that I am more liberal than most here, but if California wants to secede, they can go to hell.

I support breaking that turd of a state off and letting it sink into the ocean. Bye bye!

As a Californian, I can only shake my head and laugh my ass off at this idea.

Maybe it's because we're a supremely democratic state that rarely votes for Republicans. We also get 55 electoral votes (more than any other state). Nah, that can't be it.

Though if CA, Oregon, and Washington secede, it would majorly screw up the democratic votes for the next election.

Agreed, Silicon Valley will melt down as soon as they secede and then they'll have hippies and homeless only.

I agree. Northern California should break free and become the State of Jefferson.

Same ****, different election. When the Ds win, TX wants to leave, when the Rs win, CA wants to leave.

People should take some things a lot less seriously.

I would prefer that Florida secede, either that or recede into the Atlantic.

I mean it could be a sign of a too powerful federal government.

We fought the Brits for our Independence. We fought the South when they tried to take their ball and do their own thing. How are you picturing that working out when another Country tries to take our States away from us?

It's okay my politicians sent me there to deal with it. The Balkans, not Greece.

Isn't that the whole "global warming" plan? Once they're underwater, their votes don't count :D

As a Californian, I'm all for breaking up the state. It's far, far too big. We have massive farms and packed cities, we have mountains and seashore, but most of all, we have a FLOOD of Dems along the coast. We need to "trim off" a few miles and a few million Dems.

    Make California Great Again.

Please don't fall for this story. Just because a hashtag is making the rounds on social media doesn't mean anything. As a long time Californian (and I suspect from past posts more liberal than you) I have no desire to secede, and haven't heard anyone mention "Calexit" either.

That made me laugh at a rather inappropriate time (in spite of being one of them). Welcome back.
