45: “They may have been phony in the past, but it’s very real now,’”

    Somehow, reporters found this funny.

    Previously:
    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-m...-trump-says-unemployment-rate-may-be-42-perc/

"The number isn't reflective," he [Trump] said. "I've seen numbers of 24 percent -- I actually saw a number of 42 percent unemployment. Forty-two percent." He continued, "5.3 percent unemployment -- that is the biggest joke there is in this country. … The unemployment rate is probably 20 percent, but I will tell you, you have some great economists that will tell you it's a 30, 32. And the highest I've heard so far is 42 percent."

Trump voters will never admit they were wrong in this regard, but anyone who thought that this administration would be any different than Hillary's or Obama's or Bush or Bill was just plain ignorant. Politicians are all liars, and selfish, and aboslutely don't have the best interests of their constituents in mind. Democrat OR Republican.

Did anyone truly believe that the swamp would be drained? Call me. I have a bridge...

It's baffling how hard Republican voters fell for that whole Labor Force Participation Rate distraction. Even people with a good grasp on logic seemed to be able to accept that more people going to school, getting old, and retiring was a horrible indicator for the economy.

Yes, all politicians are liars. But one politician stands below the rest:

Percent of statements rated "mostly false," "false," or "pants on fire" by politician:

    Mitch McConnell: 43%
    Paul Ryan: 42%
    Nancy Pelosi: 47%
    Chuck Schumer: 42%

    Bill Clinton: 22%
    Jeb Bush: 31%
    Bernie Sanders: 27%
    Barack Obama: 26%
    Hillary Clinton: 26%

    Donald Trump: 70%
    Notice a pattern?

Congressional leaders of both parties tend to lie about 40-50% of the time, just less than half the time.

Presidents and presidential candidates tend to lie 20-30% of the time, just less than a third of the time.

Trump lies 70% of the time; meaning he is lying way more often than not.

Trump lies more than congressional leaders. Trump lies more than bloggers. Trump lies more than cable news political pundits.

He is an outlier - he is in fact very different in a very bad way than Hillary or Obama or Bush or Bill in this regard.

I think that accusing all politicians of being selfish is a little bit of an exaggeration. It is true that as they gain power they become alienated from us peons, and I've met many bottom dwelling scum-sucking politicians in my time. However, until the voters stop voting in clowns to office we'll get what we deserve. I still believe that reason will prevail in the long run. I guess we'll see.

    A pun!

Unintentional or otherwise, still a pretty good one. Although you know what they say about puns...

On the other hand, if he wants to lay claim to the economy, then he needs to own it. If the numbers go south, then he can't turn around and blame Obama. But that's exactly what trump would do ... take credit for the good, and blame someone else for the bad.

Agreed. Let's not give into that level of cynicism.

I sure don't. I find it pathetic and such a farce. Just another example of the fraud that Donald J Trump is.

Disagree. It's way different for reasons already mentioned.
    Today liberals seemingly care about
    Civil rights
    War
    Lies
    Accountability
Hell even the courts are stepping in, something that does not happen when democrats are crapping on the constitution

I've said a billion times over that we're all hypocrites, especially when it comes to things we believe in. At least I can admit it.

We've dealt with people complaining about crap for 8 years that don't seem to have a care in the world now when their "side" is doing it.

But to act like one side is better than the other seems kind of naive at this point.

True, but it is a matter of degree. In any case, people on both sides have to start finding common ground. We argue until the cows come home, but Americans are more like each other than anybody else.
