Go figure. He's the leader of the free world but can't have an iPhone. Having been an avid BlackBerry user for years, I can see why he's attached to it but I can also see why he is now ready to dump it.

    Your choices, President Obama

I know he has been on BB for so long due to the BES they have and some of the security of BB. Last I heard on this matter it was going to be a Samsung kit with an in house AOSP ROM.

    Weird.

I was told the iPhone was as secure as Android. :D

I believe it is but you know the Secret Service. Can you imagine the approval he will have to get to download the Facebook app?

And they aren't going to let the president use stock android either. Considering Apple isn't too likely to let the secret service make a custom version of iOS I doubt we will ever see a president with an iPhone.

I don't think Blackberry will be around for too many years more. The secret service better hurry up and approve an alternative sooner rather than later.

That looks like a good bet, since it has approved hardware-based security. Look how many times it says or implies "hardware":

Android™ Operating System: Convenient smartphone for Android usage
Disk Encryption: Encrypted storage for sensitive data
Hardware Root of Trust: Ensures software authenticity
Hardware Crypto Engine: Protects stored and transmitted data
Embedded Secure Components: Enables trusted operations
Trusted Platform Modules: Provides secure key storage
Secure Boot: Maintains device image integrity
    Hardware Modularity: Endless modularity capabilities

Normal smartphones do as much as possible in software on the incredibly fast CPUs they now have.

Why would anyone hack the phone owned by POTUS anyway? I can barely stand listening to him on TV ;)

Ask Angela Merkel about that one. Actually, I think they are more concerned it being tracked. Can't you just see the Find My iPhone tracking on some forum?

Disable Find My iPhone ?

Big words. Little words. Doesn't matter when its all lies. Why did he pay so much money to hide who he is/was?

Certainly but the technology is still there, and you know some hacker would love to post all over the forums that they tracked and hacked the POTUS.

Does it really matter? Not like anyone here was going to Facetime him anyway.
