For all those dead old threads that n00bs keep reviving, this message should be automatically posted at the beginning or end of said dead thread:

This thread is more than three months old.
No one has posted to this discussion for at least three months. Please let old threads die and do not reply to them unless you feel you have something new and valuable to contribute that absolutely must be added to make the discussion complete. Otherwise, please start a new thread instead.

There's nothing wrong with reviving old threads with relevant information, or reviving them with similar questions.

Better than "noobs" posting 100 new threads about something that has been thoroughly discussed...

At least they figured out how to search, I think we should promote them.

Agreed, we can't harp on people to use search then tell them to create new threads instead of finding an old thread. While many old threads are not relevant due to the nature of technology, there are many threads that can help people.

What about reviving old threads with irrelevant information and just repeating what the 13 previous people had already said, 14 months later?

You can report those and we'll take a look.

Could something be done about threads that are really time sensitive? Like "iPhone 5 will be released next Tuesday" will already have a misleading title three days from now, and once it is released the thread should be dead with no possibility of resurrection.

Maybe just displaying when a thread was started would help.

If people are responding to old threads like that, just report them and we'll close them if it makes sense to.
