Anyone else see the macrumors.pricegrabber.com link on the front page lastnight? It showed a new 17" Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz MacBook Pro for $500. LINK
I emailed asking why the cheap price, and this is the response I received. Let me know what you think:

The laptop is brand new, factory sealed with ALL accessories included. Will come with entirely transmissible waranty to your name. It will come with the receipt from the authorized retailer and there will be no problem for you to use the guarantee. I also offer a 5 days return policy if you choose not to keep the product(s).
The delivery is made from Italy. Please let me know if you are interested and ready to make a deal with me for we ca discuss further details.

Has the making of a scam written all over it , A dude rip me off after posting on his web site that he can get Macbook for $1750 , dude sent me a old 13 ' broken 2001 computer that did not work . Disputing it with my credit card company right now . Dont buy from these guys xxx.j-jmart.xxx
 
Seems like a great deal. I'm sure lots of trust-worthy dealers are able to sell a $2800 laptop for $2300 off. Buy it and tell how your experience was...:cool:
 
my powerbook G4 17" that has almost 3 years should still sell for over 500$ so if you can get me a machine like the one in the title please do. I'll pay you when it arrives. :D

More like around $1000 for that machine, especially if its a 1.67ghz.

I was joking. The purpose of posting this was sarcasm/warning. I had no intention of purchasing a MBP from this person. Anyway, I'm waiting for one of the new MBPs. Tuesday, right? :)
 
LMAO at this thread. Ask him if you can get "special discount" if you order 10 of them.
 
yeah it clearly is a scam.... you should work him all up into getitng you more and stuff and work deals with him, ahhaha just make him waste his time and your time too,, but it ll be fun if you have time to waste...
