Hostages taken in French Catholic church and 1 priest murdered.
    Hostage takers already neutralised.

    http://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-36892785

Secular french can be a bit anti clerical themselves but some early reports say the hostage takers were muslim.

Wow. Terrorism has no bounds. An 84 year old Catholic priest? How courageous

My sympathies to France and Germany who seem to be experiencing unrelenting horrific acts of terrorism.

You look at it with prejudice. The were "loners" and nothing proves that the act was motivated by religion, though it happened in a Catholic Church. ISIS claimed responsibility, but it still has to be unquestionably confirmed.
And what about the Crusades started in 1095? /s

P.S.: Sorry, I forgot to raise the gun control question in this respect, though the perpetrators used a cold weapon.

According to the article ISIS haven't claimed responsibility, the men are claiming to be representing ISIS.

Yanks don't do nuance though do they?

Those crusades from a 1000 years ago? Really?

Almost all of the major religions have gone through a reformation. All but one (I'll let you guess which one).

And the first crusades were started by the Muslims, btw.

Isis has taken credit. What more proof do you need?

Next time do your homework better:
    1. BBC: "The IS-linked Amaq news agency said "two soldiers of the Islamic State" had carried out the attack."
    2. CNN: "Deadly church attack in France carried out in name of ISIS".
    3. The Independent: "Mr Hollande said the two attackers pledged allegiance to Isis, while the terrorist group praised them as “soldiers of the Islamic State” in a statement via its propaganda agency."
    etc.

You missed the "/s" (i.e. sarcasm) at the end of my post.

P.S.: @sim667 don't forget to look up what "Amaq" is.

Eh? I'm not sure where this comment has come from

My point was Ulenwotshisface was lying, ISIS haven't claimed responsibility (according to the article).
    --- Post Merged, Jul 26, 2016 ---
You should post your sources with your comment.

Only one of those quotes come from the linked article in the OP.

Mr Hollande has said, and a linked news agency has said..... ISIS themselves have not commented, and none of your other sources refute that.

    However you said

WhatsYourNameQuasiPhotographer, read the cited sources carefully and as I have mentioned don't forget to look up what AMAQ is.

Ah right, you want me to read through looking for to verify what you've said, because you're being too lazy to check your own accuracy.

One of the two terrorists was arrested last year for joining Isis, and released in march.
    They chanted for Isis.
    Isis claimed responsibility.

It's all because of the crusades, right?

Oh, you haven't read through the cited sources? Tell me about being lazy.
I just presumed that if you call somebody a "liar" than you have at least read on what you base your ad hominem.
What concerns the subject itself: it was not the first time (Ansbach suicide bombing etc.) that ISIS claimed responsibility through AMAQ. You really have to brush up your knowledge.

We've already ascertained than no, ISIS have no directly themselves said it was them.

I imagine they will, but not yet.

AMAQ has said it was them. AMAQ is not ISIS..... Although seem to be the nearest thing to an official news channel for them.
    --- Post Merged, Jul 26, 2016 ---
I have read them now, yes.

And now, none of them say ISIS have claimed responsibility, as per your comment.

They say AMAQ has said it was ISIS soldiers.

The Middle East has not been given much of a chance to reform. War and conquest tends to breed extremism. That said, Iran is clearly more modern and secular than Saudi Arabia.

And I suppose it was also the Muslims who massacred the Jews when the Christians reached Jeresalam?

Yeah, no dude. That is total ***** BS. The crusades were started by the Roman Catholic Church.

Selective perception can be a nuisance.
Some examples for you, if don't care to look up what AMAQ is:

    1. Reuters: "Islamic State claims responsibility for Nice attack - Amaq news agency". ( I hope you know at least what Reuters is).
    2. "The first claim of responsibility (Orlando Night Club Attack) came through the Amaq News Agency, which has become ISIS' wire service" (Source).
    3. "A news agency affiliated with the Islamic State militant group (ISIS) has claimed responsibility for the attacks in Brussels. In a statement released through the Amaq Agency channel on the encrypted messaging platform Telegram, the attacks were blamed on Belgium taking part in the fight against ISIS." (Source).

    https://factreal.wordpress.com/2010...d-four-centuries-before-the-western-crusades/

Sources for the article are at the bottom.

And cut the attitude, Sweetheart. The "***" aren't required.

Putting words in bold does not make them any more valid by the way....
    --- Post Merged, Jul 26, 2016 ---
Ok..... but just to clarify.... the amaq news agency is still not "ISIS claiming responsibility" as per your original comment (post #5) is it.
