I have a printer connected via usb to a windows 2000 pc which is on a normal ethenet network.
I have connected my new powerbook to the network and can access internet etc. I also have another windows XP computer on the network.
All of the computers can see each other.
I setup the printer to be shared on the network and then connected to the printer via the XP machine fine using an account on the win2000 machine for authentication.
When I try to setup the printer on the powerbook, i get to the point where to gain access to the shares on the win2000 pc it askes me for a user id and password. I enter a valid user account from the win2000 machine and get an error - it wont connect!
I tried the same thing using the XP machine and the powerbook gained access and authenticated fine with the user account I provided. Only the win2000 pc I am having trouble with.
As I am not very experienced with macs, I'm wondering if anyone may know of a reason as to why XP works fine and win2000 doesn't.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
