Generally I'm anti choice but sometimes pro death. Depends on the actual circumstances.

Do not support the death penalty.

Pro choice and anti the death penalty.

But, @jkcerda, some of the choices you have offered really are pretty funny, I must say. A welcome change form some of the other polls I have seen.

Indeed, I was torn between the choice I actually selected -which was the perfectly predictable: 'their body/choice, end the death penalty' and some of the others the poll offered, namely, 'midget for moderator', 'go to hell midget', and 'no, really, go to hell midget'.

Pro-Life with a few caveats, Anti death penality except only extreme cases with multiple witnesses and/or objective video of said crimes.

I can't tell you to go hell, you're already in California.

    Pro-freedom.

I'm indifferent to the death penalty.

Midget for moderator of hell is my real choice, though.

Death penalty - only for truly heinous antisocial acts. Have opportunities for rehabilitation and a chance at a positive future. A truly free society wouldn't see much crime to begin with. Just contented people. The same qualifiers easily fit a truly pro-life society since life does not end at birth.

I personally believe the reverence of life, but it is a woman's choice to do what she wants. I don't agree with her but have the maturity to understand and tolerance why an abortion would be performed, even if I don't agree with the reasons and chances are that I would not. But her situation might not be the same as others', never mind issues like rape - if you or I learned we were the product of rape, how would you or I feel? It is not the easiest of questions, is it?

And yet you wouldn't commit suicide on a whim, to give death a helping hand? No? Why or why not? If it is that simple, why were you just hesitant to think of your own belief to its logical extension or even conclusion?

A family member, someone you loved, is murdered. Life ended. Prematurely, not as nature intended. Do you remain as flippant? Why or why not?

Here's a similar question. Why doesn't the father have a say? Father wants to keep it, Mom doesn't. Tough papa, her body her choice. Father doesn't want to keep it, Mom does. Tough papa, pay up for the next 18 years.

Pro-choice and anti-death penalty. I was pro death penalty but was convinced otherwise in this very forum about 6-7 years ago.

Why? Ending a new life is ok but ending a life that has been around a while isn't? I don't understand that? Is it just a tenure thing?

Preventing a potential life from being created and cold-bloodedly killing a fully sentient human being are two very, very different things.

But let's not derail this thread.

Even if it means that sometimes innocent individuals will die? The government has proven we can't trust it.

No it's not. The thread is a poll. It is not asking for both a debate on abortion and the death penalty. It is simply a lighthearted poll, which I don't wish to derail.

We've had plenty of tiring threads about abortion but if you would like to start another based solely on facts - not emotions or religious beliefs then go ahead. I'll join in.

But this is a simple poll to see how many are both pro-choice and anti death penalty. Two seemingly opposite opinions.

I'm sure @jkcerda will have a follow up in a few days.

The child did nothing, the criminal, not so much. That said, the criminal should be proven with DNA evidence or caught red handed. If one of those two circumstances don't apply, then life with no parole should be the sentence.

Wake up. Tight in the first post the THREAD AUTHOR asked us both about abortion and how we support our position. I understand people not reading EVERY post but most people sat least read the first post.

Seems a bit harsh for jaywalking.

Anyway, the death penalty is nothing but barbarity sanctioned by the state.

I am against aborting children, but fœtuses are a different matter.
