Since upgrading my iPhone 15 Pro to 18.1.1 I've been unable to import to Photos on my (admittedly old) iMac - High Sierra 10.13.6.
Every time I tried I got the message "Unable to read metadata. The file may be corrupt"
On further investigation this only happens if 'Camera Capture' in Settings is set to 'High Efficiency' (HEIF). Photos on the Mac can't pick up the HEIF metadata. Changing it to 'Most Compatible' (JPEG) resolves the problem but results in larger image files.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before but I didn't find mention of this specific bug in previous threads.
Hope this will be fixed in iOS18.2?
