Like a fool when I wanted to uninstall my Norton Anti-Virus & Firewall, I simply deleted all of the files by Norton and Symantec using FINDER. Now I find that I can no longer forward or reply to e-mails on my YahooMAIL! and its clear that this has been caused by my 'amatuer-ish' attempts at uninstalling.

I have tried using the Norton Uninstaller butas I've deleted most files - it believes that there is nothing left to do. On PCs Norton affects the Registry, is there something similar on MACS which would solve my problem???

Thanks

Ah, the old Norton antivirus that is worse than a virus! ;)

How about this... reinstall and then uninstall?

Note: there is a lesson in here for everyone... stay away from Norton... you have been warned!

You might check the Preferences folder or the Application Support folder.

I'm with MacDawg. Back up irreplaceable files and reinstall OS X. Your best bet is an external Firewire hard drive.

Well I would re-install Norton (yea I know how it sounds lol) and then use AppZapper to delete every file associated with it. Good Luck!
