The carriers have agreements with thousands of schools and companies for student and employee discounts. I checked with my HR department and they were not aware of any discount. But I checked with AT&T and it turns out there was indeed an 8% discount.

If you have a work or school email address, check for a discount online at the following links. If you have both work and school email addresses, try both as one discount might be higher than the other. The discount will be offered by a link sent to the email address, so you can't just make something up.

If you do not have a work/school email address, bring your employee/school ID into your carrier's store and ask if your employer/school is discounted.

When I looked, all I could find a bunch of news articles explaining that T-Mobile don't do monthly discounts for new customers any more:
http://www.theverge.com/2014/4/2/55...ate-discount-grandfathering-current-customers

If you can provide a link to T-Mobile's plan discounts, I'd be happy to update my post.
Sorry, don't have a link, but I was recently speaking to a customer service rep and was quoted a 15% discount for my educator's .edu email address.

EDIT: I found this in a quick google search - https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-4791

Thanks for posting this, but seems like is not working for me. I can validate the discount via my email and received the confirmation with the link, but once I click on the link it says "session expired". Logged in to my account and repeat the process but nothing happens.

Anyone having success with att?

Worked fine for me, though I used a desktop computer. Do you have cookies blocked, or are you using a content blocker?

I know I can get 19% off of my Verizon Plan (or 18% off at AT&T) through my employer... but Verizon's site wants me to put in my work email address. The problem is that my work email only works internally... nothing comes in or goes out... from outside. I wonder if I can get this done at a Verizon store...

Start a chat or call the 1-800 number and they'll get you set up.

Bring a pay stub to a Verizon corporate store and they should be able to sign you up for the discount.

Pretty sure Verizon discounts can go up to at least 25% (if not even to or close to 30%).

Here are my results after plugging both email addresses into each of the big three carriers:

AT&T Work: 8% off plan, accessories, phones (basically everything on the bill except taxes and fees)
AT&T School: Not eligible

T-Mobile Work: Not eligible
T-Mobile School: Eligible for some benefits, but nothing related to cost savings

Verizon Work: 10% off plan, 25% off accessories
Verizon School: 10% off plan, 25% off accessories

Pretty sure Verizon discounts can go up to at least 25% (if not even to or close to 30%).

Okay, I've just decided to remove any "up to" information from my post altogether because (A) who really knows for sure, (B) it probably changes from time to time, and (C) whatever anyone personally gets is going to be the important number to them anyway, regardless of a theoretical maximum.

I was quoted "no discount" by TMO's automated system, but when I chatted with a rep, she said the system isn't 100% accurate and found if actually be eligible for a 15% discount off of my bill.

Also, consider that all discounts are not created equal. E.g. VZW's discount is only off of line access fees, whereas TMO's discount is off of the entire account bill (sans phone payment plans, obviously).

For Verizon it's actually generally off the "base" plan cost itself (the data/minutes/messages part), while the line access fees (if there are any, depending on the plan) are separate and don't get the discount.
