http://homepage.mac.com/micam1/ It's called "QT6bX". If it's still there. I haven't tried it yet, but others say it is the real thing.
Real smart "lets host an unreleased apple product on our mac.com address". Well, it's still up so I guess Apple is clueless or doesn't care. I suspect the first.
yeah I'm gonna try it it not offical its just some dude trying to rip apple off when they check it they will close his account
Wow, that's impressive. Does it have any problems that you've run into yet. Put it through its paces and let us know. I'm not uploading a beta until its official, FCP and some other software might not be compatible with it and I'd not like to find out the hardway.
i tried it out just over a week ago, and soon went back to QT5. The preview mode in the finder has some issues that still need sorting out; most of the avi's just showed up as green noise, where with QT5 they played perfectly. I hope they have that sorted by the time it goes public.
Narf, its been on my carracho server for 2 weeks. Btw I got RTCW (MWSF BETA LOOKS PRETTY GM TO ME) Narf!!!!!!! WCN!!!!!! Narf

I work just across RockCreek park from GeorgeTown, in NW DC. I live in OldTown, do the commute. Blakespot lives in OldTown too.
Cool Which apple store do you like? I always hang out @ the one in alexandra (think spelling is right) and bother the staff there with my 10.2 cds lol.
You know where i can find the QT 5 player installer for osx? QT 6 doesn't support my videodecoder plug-ins
wrong picture? Eple: i may be wrong, but as far as i know there is no QT5 installer for OSX. You have to re-install the OS.
in the same download folder as the qt6 beta there is something called "5.0.sit" that might be it.... give it a try anyway.
That's why I haven't installed it. Oh, BTW, it's not on my Mac.com account. mine is homepage.mac.com/atodd and micam1 is a resident of another mac forum. Can't remember where, i just surfed there and saw...QT 6! It is NOT my web page that the file is on. Has anyone run into problems? Also, "5.0.sit" is Adaptec Jam 5.0. It's not QuickTime. The other, macvcdx, is a really nice VCD player for OS X. Worth a look, even if it's a bit slow.
I already downloaded Quicktime 6 beta for OS X around the beginning of April. The one thing I like most about Quicktime 6 Freeware is that there are no skipped clips in the beginning of .mpeg files, as QT5 used to do. Now, if Apple could have the option to view movies in full screen easily in their freeware version... Keep the progress going, Apple. _______________ Any time is a great time for iPod.
