I was wandering if youbcan normally order the new iPods on the day they are announced from apple online? Eg as soon as they are announced are they usually available to order online and shipped within the normal period (24 hours)?. Thanks.

I'm guessing you can order right away, but they'll take a few extra days to actually ship. I'll be ordering from either Mac Connection or Amazaon, as both sites are usually $20-$30 cheaper than Apple online (even on launch day!) and have no sales tax to California, which would be almost $30 for a $300 iPod touch.

OK, thanks. I'll probably try to buy it from my apple store in the first few days and if I can't find it after a few days then i'll order online.

Yes, you will be able to place an order the day of the announcement. You may also be able to buy it in-store, although this varies by product. Third-party retailers usually get new devices a few days after Apple Stores.

Other states? I live in Indiana.

I think i will be ordering from Amazon or eBay, whichever one adds up to be cheaper.

I dont know about you but when I buy something I like it to be in my hands when I walk out the store. Just because I like to feel the product at first.:D:rolleyes::cool::apple::apple::apple:

In store will be retail+tax. But eBay doesnt charge tax usually, and shipping will be like $10. Even if it is at retail thats still like $10 off because of tax.

I'd wait 2 weeks or so to see if there are any jurastic problems...but thats just me.

But if you think about it, all the problems with the iPhone can learnt and applied to the iPod touch, considering the two month difference between the devices.
