My daughter’s 8+ isn’t dinging from messages or ringing. All her volume controls, mute button, etc. have been checked.

IF she has the phone open reading a text, it’ll make a ding if another text comes through, but if the phone is closed and set down, it won’t notify her of anything or make any sounds.

It is under regular warranty until February, 2019. The problem is, she has a cracked screen. It has BEEN cracked for quite a few months, but the sound issue started recently (so the two don’t seem related).

Will Apple still repair the sound issues under the normal warranty?

Could Do Not Disturb be enabled?

I think Apple will use the screen issue in their favour.

They might get you to sign paperwork declaring said damage before undertaking further work.
