I've sold my iPad and I'm mailing it out soon, so I can get an iPad 2. How do I ensure saved data from apps, such as documents or game save points, are not lost? Also, how do I wipe everything off of it and basically get it selling ready?

You can sync your current iPad's data to your PC and then restore it onto your new iPad 2.

Also before you ship, you should reset your old ipad via iTunes so it doesn't have any of your personal information on there.

Basically what he said... Plug it in, right click on your ipad in the left column and select "back up." After that, restore it and ship it off! Do not go through registration after you restore it, just let it activate and unplug it.

yup. back up and restore...super easy with iTunes.

You can do the reset on the iPad itself. There is no need to do it through iTunes. As already mentioned do a backup before you reset it and then restore the new iPad from the backup.
