    Hi,

I just got on my iPhone 5 and was wondering if I can keep the the plastic piece that came with the iPhone on the back? I do have a case for it. It might be 2 to 3 weeks before I can find a protector for the back. Would it be ok to do this for that amount of time?

    Thanks, Jerry

If you don't care for the camera being blurry and the flash being hazy for the time being, go ahead

It should be fine. Only thing it might affect is the camera and/or flash.

I cut the top back just a bit, for the camera and the flash.

    Thank you!

Not to mention all that extra weight.

Front plastic covers your earpiece which will hurt your call quality.

Edit - n/m you only wanted to know about the back. I'd be worried about sand and dust getting between it b/c it's not the same seal as a real protector. It could grind against the back.
