When you open the Finder window and to the bottom left hand side it shows:

    Search For:
    Past Week
    All Images
    All Video
    All documents

I was wondering if you delete all the files from these will that delete the file as a whole. Are these just shortcuts showing you what has been looked through etc.?

    Just shortcuts.

I deleted those items from Finder.

Those are saved searches. You can create you own and put them in the sidebar. But are you asking if you can delete those searches, or the files referenced by the searches?

You can delete the searches without affecting anything, but deleting a file from the search deletes the file from your disk.

Thanks for the quick reply. So I'm assuming that since theyre shortcuts theyre taking up a significant amount of space being that I have had them there for 1 year almost lol right?

Yea, actually that was my question. I was cleaning up the comp and realized there is so much in those bars that i wanna delete them all. So how should I go about that without deleting the main files?
