We have a Dual 867MHz G4 currently running OSX 10.2.8. The computer has 1.75Gb RAM (soon to be expanded to its maximum 2Gb) and two internal hard drives (one on each separate ATA bus). We reccently installed Photoshop CS2, and it is recommended that we have 10.3.6 installed.

Will the G4 run any slower, especially in Photoshop if we install Tiger 10.4.2?

Are there any issues with Photoshop CS2 and OSX 10.4.2?

Is there anything else I need to be aware of for the upgrade?

Thanks for the help :)

Thanks for the reply :)

Will the Dual 867MHz G4 run OSX 10.4.2 any quicker (or any slower) than OSX 10.2.8? Or will I not notice any difference in speed?

My guess is that Tiger will feel a lot snappier, if you don't go overboard with Dashboard widgets... ;)

RAM and HD space doesn't seem to be an issue.

I'm running Tiger on an iBook G4@800 and it feels much faster than Panther, with enough (free) RAM and HD space (never tried it with Jaguar, though, but remember from my old Pismo that Panther felt quicker than Jaguar...)
