Apologies, because I know there are tons of threads on this (or similar) but search terms are hard to navigate here.

I’ve placed an order for 2 iPhone 15 Pros from Verizon, but they’re backordered, and the phones my wife and I are interested in are in-stock locally. Can I still get the $1000 trade-in (with bill credit, etc., etc), which is the promo offered to me in the Verizon app (and which I used for my current pending order) by going to an Apple Store instead?

Thanks!

I'm also curious about this although my impression was that Apple pays you whatever they offer in trade in credit upfront (let's say 600 bucks for your phone) as opposed to verizon which will give you the 1000 dollars as credits over the course of 36 months. So those two offers may not necessarily align in dollar value, let alone the timeframe of the credit.

In other words you will get whatever value they give you for your trade in, and instantly, and that value may or may not match the Verizon credit which is also spread straight lined through three years.

I asked the same question on Reddit and was told no, you can’t do the $1000 promo in-store (though I didn’t get the feeling there was complete certainty). I’ve got a little one at home so don’t necessarily want to take a 90 min+ trip on a chance… but, if someone can tell me otherwise (that it works!), it would be nice to move this along! VZW orders take a while.

From my understanding that’s a loyalty offer. I have the same problem. I have the 1k loyalty credit offer in offer as well. I cancelled my Apple order because Verizon had the $1k offer for me. It’s on an account and line basis. The generic $830 credit is what you will get if you go through Apple. With Verizon the new signups and new lines get $1k trade in value.

Not only that these loyalty offers have slightly different terms depending on what offer you got it could say on “unlimited ultimate “ or when you switch to “unlimited ultimate” for people on older plans they want to move to newer plans. My offer is valid for my plan “Play More”.

While not 100% sure I think you’re stuck just like me. Mine just got delayed until the 27th. I might cancel I’m so over it and frustrated with Verizon’s handling and Apples lack of stock. Best of luck to you

Edit saw your post on Reddit. That rhymed my lucks beginning to turn. 🤣✌️

Yep, sounds like we’re in the same boat. I’m willing to wait if it’s reasonable (we have iPhone 13s, and they work just fine!) but it is frustrating when VZW keeps pushing back dates. As I put on Reddit, I did call the local Apple Store, and they did think they could do it... But it was also by no means a sure thing. He said “we just pull up the Verizon portal and activate through that.”

I also just read a thread detailing the horrors of cancelling a Verizon trade-in order, so… I’ll practice patience.

if it was me I'd buy the cheapest iPhone 11 at amazon trade that in for $1K or $830 credit depending on where you do it.

sell the 13s privately or even eBay.

I was on the same boat, I canceled my order on 9/19 that was pushed back to 10/27 delivery. A few days later ended up going back to verizon for the $1K loyalty credit, but this time I was able to stay on UnliWelcome Plan and upgrade fee waived for iPhone 15 PM 256gb NTi with a slight longer wait time of 11/3 delivery.

Yeah, there’s always a way to stretch the deal further; convenience is usually worth a lot to us, so I’ve previously just traded in at Apple directly, but the $1000 deal stood out and now it’s not worth it to me to find some iP11s just to save a couple (hundred) bucks - or so it feels! I don’t think you’re allowed to switch trade-ins once you’ve locked the deal, either.

Curious - any hiccups cancelling your original order?

My original Apple order cancelled within a few seconds and released to Verizon. But Verizon in house orders the trade in can be a nightmare to delete from what I’ve heard it could take up to 3 days to get it resolved. With that kind of wait the phone will be reserved by someone else. I’m on the fence about cancelling too and forfeiting my promo offer but then I don’t want the order to take a year to fully cancel. We are stuck it seems.
😐

Also what exact model and color did you order. I’m waiting on. White Titanium White 512GB Pro Max which apparently is a unicorn.

No hassle at all because nothing was fulfilled, but reps always say they don't have control on when it (loyalty offer) might get pulled from your account because such offers are at the discretion of vzw, so basically if you're willing to wait for it I'll just deal directly with vzw and be done with it and avail that 1k. Now if you said a couple of hundreds is not worth the hassle then go to apple with the $830 device credit and have your devices much faster. Not sure what else there is to say about it.

Yeah, I appreciate this is a bit of having it both ways, but functionally “free” (with massive “”) iPhones with minimal hassle is worth something… if VZW actually ships!

We went with 256 Pros (non-Max) in Natural and White. Presumably should be available sooner than the Max variants (we just ordered on Tuesday, so I’m not at all surprised they’re not here now… I’m just not how long I’ll be waiting!).
