"There are no white people, only people who think they are white"
    James Baldwin

in the plain light of the prevalency of latent racism,
that is clear on the surface,
perhaps a mass participation in Jane Eliotts' eye exercise,
self realisation through self ridicule may have merits,
or music to "dance and oppression and injustice to death".

"Technology is what we do to the Black Panthers
and the Vietnamese under the guise of advancement
in a materialistic theology.” Richard Serra 1974

"I am for an art that flaps like a flag,
or helps blow noses, like a handkerchief.
I am for an art that is put on and taken off,

which is eaten like a piece of pie,
or abandoned with great contempt like a..."

Lack of proper paragraphs indicates a C&P operation.

“Honestly, I can’t even believe that you would look at me
and the word ‘gringo’ would come to mind. Does it make
your life easier just to throw a quick racist term at somebody?
A man who has seen the things I’ve seen? Experienced the
loss and pain I’ve experienced? I transcend race, hombre.”

    Gluons like foam

As sure as i was born 'white' I've found latent racism within at times.
I think it is far more prevalent in our society, (and most others it would seem)
than we are willing to recognise, and I wonder how else systematic subtle racism can be revealed.
I see no shame in using the words of another who describe a point better than i am able.

I'm for a universalism that ends mythologies of superiority. Banal self-interest put aside
(if i could as a runaway son of the silent age). If politics is poison then what is the hollow
toothed beast to be avoided, is it the same beast that wishes away mephistopheles,
whilst valorising the punishing-nourishing machine for fear of greater misery.

Perhaps it is about how post-emptors live life as an atom, or in Kernewek usya omma turnypen (perhaps).
Irony is remembrance (poppies with warning labels, of the dangers of pins to clothes), my only flying sparks
onto tinkling cymbal tonight will come from pressing harder on my eyeballs.

I haven't seen that in YEARS, thanks for posting it. Me and my brother always quote it when we see a really white or really black guy on TV.

They are both good, although Blacks probably don't like Dave as much as, say, Chris Rock, because they might view him as too main-stream.

Thanks for the link. Yes, they make a very entertaining couple on stage.

But why are they there?? For enlightenment, or personal gain??

And please, I don't mean to belittle the problems of the American inter-cities, for they are massive.
