RAID with external hard drives?

Would it be possible to take two USB 2.0 external hard drives, plug both into a macbook pro or powerbook, and run RAID (either one or zero) with them?

yes, you can raid almost anything (i've done a raid array with zip drives)...don't know how much speed benefit you'll see, though.
