Mr. Paul, if your john isn't working, perhaps you should call a plumber. Try Joe the Plumber. I bet he likes you.

Either that, or he's leaving upper deckers when he gets high from his aqua buddha.

    :p :p :p

The hilarious part of this post, is that YG17 thinks its funny that Congressman Paul thinks that the Energy Department has anything to do with toilets not working... when in reality they do. Ever heard of 'Ultra Low Flush Toilets?' One of many technologies the bureaucrats at the Department of Energy want to shove down the throat of Americans. Just like they're trying to outlaw the incandescent light bulb, they want to make your toilet flush much less water... in effect making you flush multiple times.

How DARE Senator Paul stand up for consumer choice? How DARE Senator Paul stand up against the gross inefficiencies and bureaucratic nightmare withing the Department of Energy? How DARE Senator Paul stand up for common sense?

Amazing. His point about her supporting a women's right to choose, but not supporting anyone else's right to choose what lightbulb they buy or what toilet they buy, is absolutely spot on. Yet another example of how many 'liberals' actually want to squash liberty at every corner.

Fivepoint, I have a question for you...

I understand your particular ideological slant, I understand where it comes from. But, you do realize that we do not have enough clean fresh water to go around right? Water conservation efforts are by all means very important to the survival of our species. I would think (maybe I am being naive) that this issue would surpass any ideological view of consumer "freedom"?

Actually, it would be his water pressure... which means his plumbing sucks and he doesn't want to fix it. DOE and low flush toilets have nothing to do with it.

You should know by now that fivepoint cares nothing for such notions.

I find it hilarious that you can just randomly assume what YG17 thought was funny. I found Paul's wording to be funny personally.

You can see from other posts in this thread that many here know about low flush toilets (the 1.6 gallon remark).

But hey, if you wanna just keep setting up your own dominoes and then knock them over for a false sense of accomplishment, go for it.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Low_flush_toilet

I'd say the 22,000 gallons a year saved is worth it. To say that these toilets today need multiple flushings as a regular occurrence is to completely ignore the advancements that have been made in the plumbing industry. I've watched entire Modern Marvels episodes on "bathroom tech" and today's average low flow actually outperforms old fashion high flows due to innovations in bowl design and water clearing.

But hey, rant against whatever you want, its a free country.

Wait, are we talking about Congressmen Paul or Senator Paul? Also I like your usage of their title when ever mention them, but not using President Obama alwyas you talk about him...subtle.

Because Europeans are all socialists who hate freedom.;)

Why do you hate freedom and consumer choice? ;)

You're nothing but a communist who hates our freedoms. :D

Come on, you guys know those will be the answers.

I guess God will always ensure that there is enough oil, enough water and enough food. Even if the world population grows to 20 billion, after all it is part of his grand master plan for us, his children.

George Bush senior signed into law the requirement for low flush toilets. Stop blaming this one on liberals.

Low flush toilet requirements went into effect in 1997. Now, I am no toilet expert, but I have crapped in many post-1997, and thus, low flush toilets, and haven't had to flush them multiple times. If Rand's **** won't go down in one flush, then there's either something wrong with his toilet, or he needs to stop using so much damn toilet paper.

No, no, no, no! Our healthy capitalist market system should be allowed to drive toilet design. By golly, if I want a 12-gallon, rocket-powered toilet, I should be able to get it! :p

Rand needs more fiber in his diet. Oh, and use less TP as others have said. And, I would also like to add that he should do multiple flushes instead of just one big one. Because if he makes alot of s*** and uses lots of TP then that's going to clog up the pipes.

Not to derail this thread, but does anyone have any recommendations for a good low-flow toilet? The ones I've used have these mega-rims and I end up needing a brush every time I use them. I think I need one that doesn't have a rim that acts like a backboard.

Don't forget, every conservative is really a neo-con free spender who doesn't really "get it" like the bopsy twins, Ron and Rand Paul.

Does bopsy rhyme with anything? I'm thinking of writing a poem about them... ;)

You know, I just realized how unfair we are being to Rand Paul. We joke about what his clogged toilet says about his bowel habits, and how full of crap he is and so forth, but we totally ignore the fact that he spends at least as much time jerking off as he does spewing crap.

His dad wasn't all that bad for a conservative (as far as conservatives go these days), but the son is way off base.

I would liken them to a less known version of father son politicians George HW Bush and George W Bush where the son was far worse.

I hope Newt, Bob Dole, John McCain, or Sarah Palin don't have offspring who decide to run down the line. I don't know of a child who has followed in their parents' footsteps in politics and did better. In California, Jerry Brown is no Edmund Brown. In Alaska, Lisa Murkowski is not the politician her dad was. I think politics is something you have to be born to do and learn how to get good at, not something you go into as if its passed down like a title via monarchy.
