Where was that principled stance when it came to tax cuts and increased military spending?

Liberals, trump is spending like a drunk sailor and there is no plan to pay for the debt
also liberals, how dare a congressman not approve spending that we have no way of paying for?

He can justify it the same way he did on the tax bill. Or we could take $10B a year from the military. Just stop buying $7000 coffee pots. /s

Even fiscally conservative Rush is saying all pretenses of balancing budget are gone, that it was a Republican smokescreen.

    And we should.

The Soviet Unions and Nazi Germany both collapsed due to out of control military spending (the latter little know example was obviously accelerated by the allies)

Except Rand Paul chose this as some dividing line. He approved millions/billions in spending without concern for where the money was going to come from.

Sorry (not sorry) - you can't excuse his decision here.

Where was he on the other trillion dollars of expenditures he approved but can’t pay for?

I feel like if you were running for Congress against a giant “NO” stamp and the stamp won you would concede defeat admitting the stamp made a lot of valid points.

NOT defending Paul, as you pointed out he has failed to be a fiscal conservative, just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who complain about spending under trump and wanting more spending here because of "feelings".

If your intent wasn't to excuse Paul, than why chime in with deflection or whataboutism.

by making comments as ssuch, you are throwing in a "But" to the conversation.

So To gauge intent, either your post is an attempt to gather reaction (which hurrah, i bit again), or, to defend Paul, even if in a miniscule way.

now maybe we're wrong and your intent is just genuine conversational curiosity... you just have the odd habbit of playing "devils advocate" a LOT in defense of certain people you claim to not support

I always want a reaction. try post 6 and let me know what you think there. Paul fell so far away from his dad it's not funny. :(

It's about how money is spent. Not just spending in general.

they have no way to pay for this spending, it just keeps adding up to our debt so glad to a degree we at least get to talk about it, and don't worry about the first responders, they are getting the bill passed before August?

    Be my guest.
IIRC, he was first opposed to Chaos45, then after winning licked his shoes, but I guess now is disenchanted.

There's two ways for government to spend money.

    One way generates value.

The other way generates little to no value.

Guess which way the GOP love to spend money?
