    1. First I want to say that I know at least 99% of people on this forum are big Apple fans. I know we want to try out the new software but we cannot get ahead of ourselves and just keep throwing the rule book out the window. That is why it is especially imperative that we are the ones leading by example. So I cant help but fill slightly disheartened when I look in this iOS 11 subforum, and see all these post of "Its broken" or "Cannot restore" oh and "this new feature doesn't work", and "Apple sucks"
    2. The reason Apple doesnt do a Public Beta until Beta 2 is because sh*ts broken. Of course stuff wont work, features aren't fully functional, and your device is slow, what did you honestly expect, yah I know we want to tell people and hopefully stuff is fixed but isn't that for the 1 thread at the top of the forum titled iOS 11 Beta 1 Bugs and Features. Why is every person under the sun installing this and then complaining that their phone or iPad isn't working.
    3. Maybe you should leave Beta 1 to the developers that are paying for the Apple developer membership and have the knowledge, experience, and resources to troubleshoot and log the bugs properly through the correct channels, and to any devs this post obviously doesnt apply to you btw. No googling the How to install beta 1 videos isn't not real knowledge or experience, your cheating and thats fine, Ive done it too, but I dont come and then complain about how its all broken or now my stuff isn't working.
TLDR: If you want to try the beta because your eager thats great but dont complain about stuff and whine and get upset when you knowingly chose to install a beta that wasn't intended for anyone outside of Apple's Developer community in the first place. It wont kill you to wait for that first Public Beta, I personally dont mess with any of the betas simply because I want my stuff to work 24/7 and I know with any beta that wouldn't be the case. Thank you for your time have a wonderful evening;)

I am waiting for beta 3 which will be PB2 . I won't install beta 2=PB1 on my iPhone . Beta 3 will be more smooth and stable than the previous one.

If that entire chunk can be divided into smaller chunks I would feel great.

But I agree with what you say. If someone has no idea doing something, better not doing it in the first place, unless he/she is doing research or of course, know what he/she is doing.

and can properly report bugs, and keep their complaints isolated to the sub thread devoted to iOS 11 bugs and features . Let me see what dividing I can do with my post brb ;)

Okay I did the best I could do as the formatting well its tricky in those posts since its changes from editing to when I post it

Because some people are hipsters who simply want to try new features without knowing the consequences of installing beta software. Even Apple's public beta software page mentions that 'since the public beta software has not yet been commercially released by Apple, it may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software'. People just don't read.

I'll bet you more than half of the people who start threads here complaining about iOS 11 bugs don't even use the Feedback Assistant.

...me hence why I stopped using betas, it didn't feel right using it but not providing feedback.. that was back in iOS 8 so that was it for me. Apple has done great work though iOS 8 to 9 was a improvement and I thought 9 was smooth then came iOS 10 holy crap it was noticeably smoother/more polished then iOS 9 was on my Air 2, I have great feelings about iOS 11.

If Apple really didn’t want non developers to use these betas and the additional diagnostic data that comes with the additional usage they could simply go back and implement UDID registration.

I'm not arguing people shouldn't use the betas all together but rather don't use the BETA 1. I mean come on just wait for the Public Beta. The beta apple puts out specifically for non developers that want to try out the new features.

Compared to the Radar system/Bug Reporter, the Feedback Assiatant is way easier to report with for public beta testers. It takes most if not all of the technicalities out of it.

Now for developers, keep using the Radar system. It’s more detailed and we can add more information.

I just bought a 10.5 today, and the sales person made the comment "that it's really great with iOS 11". My first thought, which I had the presence of mind to prevent exiting my mouth, was: why tell someone that their new purchase will be great in September?

I'm sure she meant I could install the beta and get access to all those features, but running a beta doesn't make anything "really great". A beta isn't meant to give early access to features, it's meant to give developers early access to feedback.

Apple created some of this problem by releasing the new iPP alongside the iOS 11 demo...

I agree with your main points but..... if you are not going to even consider installing or using iOS 11 until sometime mid to late in 2018 why bother coming on the iOS 11 forum just to "preach"?o_O

That was more a joke, I'm a avid fan of iOS 11 and with a iPad Pro you really think I have that kind of willpower.. pleaseee:rolleyes::p
    --- Post Merged, Jun 18, 2017 ---
You should do a clean install of iOS 10.3.3 when it drops, you would have utmost perfection and I can gaurenttee it'll be smoother then iOS 9 was.
    --- Post Merged, Jun 18, 2017 ---
Yah I thought that was conflictive I mean the main promo video showcases iOS 11 like Apple that's gonna backfire...but hey maybe Beta 2 Public Beta 1 will be awesome

Meanwhile, my delightful Apple Sales folks (not being snide they were adorable) were oohing and ahhhing about the phone on the 12.9" box. Perspectives and that. We all had a good laugh.

As far as staying on topic, I wait until the software is officially released (generally wait about 2-3 weeks before installing). I may get up to speed on Apple software and hardware very fast, but there is no way I am going to install a Beta especially since I am not a developer and would not know what to look for.

So the headline should really be "why wait for the public beta".

Complaining about people complaining on the internet? That, with all due respect, sounds like the modern definition of an exercise in futility.

I would always wait for PB. It's just easier and I've heard some horror stories about the state of beta 1. I'm sure PB1 is coming very soon.
