    At one level, yes.

But what if one situation's 47% led to some of the other situation's 47%? The two aren't necessarily isolated universes in the same multiverse, there's bound to be overlap - which can be important because of what some depressed people would describe as being a "domino effect".

WTF do these two things have to do with each other? Romney made a comment about those who do not pay federal income taxes and said they all vote Democratic for free stuff. Jackass didn't know that many of them are Republican voters living in red states, aka his base.

You're trying to make a connection that doesn't exist simply because of the 47%. They are two completely different topics that simply share a percentage number and nothing else. You even titled the thread as a way of linking this to Romney's comment.

So some of the people who don't pay taxes are those who aren't jobless*, regardless of where they live?

    * (by choice, to get all them "dem freebies")

Romney made a point, but wasn't accurate, and arguably was shifting blame to justify his loaded number... but we do have an unemployment and underemployment problem in this country, and those factors do explain why some people don't pay those taxes...

What does what you said have to do with the OP or Romney's 47% comment?

Do you normally look at two things with the same number and assume they must be connected ... because the numbers are the same?

Hey don't discount it, it's very clear that 99 Restaurants started the whole "we are the 99%" thing.
