Hello there,

I'm new to Macrumors and French, so pardon my english that could be a little bad, and tell me if i'm posting in the wrong place.

I'd like to install on my iPhone 11 Pro Max 14.7 the app of my bank for 3DSecure, which is going to be the only way to pay online at the end of the year. The problem is that it detects JB and stop the installation process (adding card into the app).

My iPhone is not jailbroken, i updated or restored a long time ago because i don't want KB anymore. But traces are still there and i don't know how to remove them whithout losing my save ... And i can't install JB like undercover and "restore roots"

If you have some idead to help me that will be amazing ...

Thank you,

Best regards

I had a similar situation recently and decided to "bite the bullet" and do a clean install. In my case I could have attempted the root file system restore but since I suspected some remnants of JB would never go away I went clean.

I don't regret it! I didn't reinstall all the stupid apps I had on there and my old iPhone 8 feels like a new phone again.

The only thing I miss is the tweak that let me change notification sounds.

I finally found a thread in the forum telling a DFU restore could remove any traces of JB. I did it, restored my save, and it worked for my bank app ! I don't know if it removed everything, but enough for the app i wanted to install.

So i'd advice a DFU Restore.

And my thread can be close, thank you for your answer mate !

Wouldn't doing a restore via iTunes on PC/Mac work?

Update: looks like you figured it out. :)
It's not needed a DFU Restore, just an iTunes restore. DFU is only needed when youre stuck in a boot loop or you cant unlock your iPhone to disable find my.

I tried restore via iTunes and didn't solve my problem, this is why I tried a DFU restore and this one worked good. Maybe something went wrong with the first restore and it could be normaly enough, but DFU restore saved me so it's perfect !

Thank you all for your help !

It’s a sad statement that your English is better than many native speakers. Glad you got your problem fixed.

Just a heads up, the restore is required but also, most backups have Jailbreak data and remnants within them. They may not break an applications functionality but in order to get rid of everything, one would typically need to restore and don't use a backup, restore as a new phone or device. Definitely the DFU method is the way to go but one can typically achieve the same result if restored in recovery mode.
