Hi there

I'm on a M1Max on Monterey. I noticed a new icon in the top bar which says "screen mirroring". Since I cannot activate the iPad Sidecar there (how come?) I have no need for it. Can this be removed? And what is the actual use of it?

Thanks and best

Untick the box that says "Show in Menu Bar" in System Preferences>Dock & Menu Bar>Screen Mirroring.

Thanks.

Can anyone enlighten me what it's for? Why doesn't it show the ipad for sidecar but - in my case - "livingroom" which is actually a co2 measur device...confusing.

AppleTV, SideCar. You need to setup Sidecar before.

airplay 2 to other airplay 2 compliant devices in addition to sidecar. works great with my LG OLED tv
