Last night, it was kinda sweet to see all of the Democrats and Republicans mingling with each other and sitting together when they are usually separated. Even Joe Wilson sat with Democrats. Civility returned, right?

Not if Georgia Representative Paul Broun has anything to do with it. He, instead, stayed in his office and attacked the President on Twitter with these intelligent messages:

"Mr. President, you don't believe in the Constitution. You believe in socialism."
"All children will be poor if we continue with Obama's policies"
"Corporate tax rates should be zero."
And finally, "Let's pass my balanced budget amendment"

You can see it for yourself.

So how does this compare to the "You Lie!" shout? It has more content, but the incredible cowardice of not going and blasting the President from Twitter...

OMG! WTF is wrong with these people? Are they really that stupid, or do they simply think we are?

Devil's advocate: He may not have been able to attend due to his committment as the person delivering the GOP response.

No, the guy who gave the response was Paul Ryan.

Ok, really, what's with all the quacks and their connection to the name Paul?

Paul Brown, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Ron Paul... I'm sure there's more.

Are we at a point now where we have to get all of our news headlines from Twitter?

Awesome! Let's pronounce everyone we don't agree with as a Socialist, Communist, or a creation of The Devil. And let's spread it via works of The Devil as well, such as MySpace, FaceBook, Twitter...and hell, eBay.

It explains why he stayed in his office and twittered.

LOL Perhaps his penis was so sore that it made him mad that he could no longer masturbate and so he decided to use his displaced anger to trash talk the president?

Sounds like Johnny Carson's old Tea-Time Movie Schtick:

"And now back to Paul Brown, Paul Ryan, Rand Paul, Ron Paul and Zippy the Wonder Lizard in ... Tarzan Breaks His Loincloth!"

Twitter is usually much quicker at breaking news than most news channels. Currently there's a lot more information about the protests in Egypt on Twitter than in a lot of news sites.

Not only quicker, but the data is more raw. You learn things you'd never learn from the traditional media. I think it's a good thing.

That is fine and I agree, but is this particular story news worthy. It is basically an opinion piece not real news.

That's a problem with the story, not the medium.

If he said those things to a TV camera, wouldn't it be news?

But would he say that to a camera, people say a lot more on twitter than they would say in person. Even if he said it to a camera I would not consider it really news worthy. Sure it would hit the news cycle for a day or two but is it really news.
