What the hell does this have to do with job creation and fixing the economy? The Republicans are clearly not interested in fixing a damn thing. They're one and only goal is to impeach Obama.

part of me wishes Obama would keep defending DOMA for one reason and one reason only and that is to push it to the supreme court where it would be complete over ruled and give a nation wide precedence to kill off bills like the DOMA nation wide.

That is the only reason Obama should have them keep defending it.

I wouldn't trust the RATS. And Kennedy's opinion depends on which way the wind blows.

They could try, but they would fail miserably. It is well within the DOJ's right to not defend the law in court. There is plenty of precedent. They're blowing smoke. All they'll succeed in doing is embarrassing themselves. But hey, that's what they do best.

I actually checked Google, to inquire if Barney had an "ass-child".

(Like love-child, but a little more grotty.)

It's an old story--this is far from the first time it has happened.

The first one being DOMA is still being enforced. The Obama administration just refuses to defend its constitutionality when it goes to court. Up until then, it's still in effect.

How about number one, you can only impeach for high crimes and misdemeanors. Number two, the executive branch has the exclusive authority to enforce the law, and has immunity for how and when it chooses to do so. From the local beat cop who can choose to give you a warning, to the State's Attorney who can choose not to file charges, nolle (drop) pending cases, or enter into settlments, to the States that can choose to allow medical marijuana, to the feds who can choose not to defend a law in Court.

This is a non-story other than to show once again that the GOP doesn't understand impeachment, and the Constitution generally, and just act like they do while throwing it in their arguments to try to make political points.
