Replaced my 2013 MBP with a new MBP - question on usb-c

Finally replaced my late 2013. Traded it in and bought the top 15" MBP.

Is it normal for these usb-c plugs to slide in like butter then require 200lbs of pressure to remove? It's like a giant magnet is catching them.

I find it depends on the cables. There must a bit of "wiggle room" (Pun intended) on the USB-C cable connector spec. Because sometimes it is like pulling teeth (another pun) and other times the cable just slides out smoothly.

On the upside, I have never had a cable USB-C just fall out. I can't say that about other cables, like micro-USBs.

Haha seriously. Do they ever loosen up?
Have not had the USB C long enough to find out. However, I can tell that the click or snap you feel when connected it will remain forever, so it is unlikely to loosen up much over its lifespan. Think how strong your fingers will get in the future!

After about a year, the left back port on my 2017 MacBook Pro started to wear a bit. The cable never fell out, but you could certainly feel a difference between say that, and the right side ports that I never used. Will it remain strong enough for years to come? Probably? I’ve not read anywhere that cables were ever falling out.

However, I *have* read on here that a few members had the ports replaced under warranty if they started to get a little loose like that. I wouldn’t worry about it too terribly much. Just maybe switch ports that use to charge once in a while?
