Replacing 16 gb black CDMA at local store

Sorry if this has been asked a million times, but I am going into my local apple store tonight. They have my replacement on hold. I asked if this replacement would be new or refurbished. I was told that the phone will come in a white box. However the store told me that these phones come right off the line and are new. Is this accurate, or will I be getting refurb. Seems silly to possibly get a refurb after having the brand new phone only a week
