At least we know where the Republicans priorities lie...cutting funding for low income women's healthcare and the racist confederate flag. Absolutely disgusting.

Yes, but Democrats try and attach riders expanding LGBT rights and similar while Republicans advance racist issues like the confederate flag.

BOTH sides tend to attach things that kill a bill UNLESS they are getting what they want in return. so they will pass it IF they are getting bribed one way or another.

Examples of this are why bills should be single issue only.

We already knew that. It hasn't been your father's Republican Party since 1980. But, no need for PC dog-whistle politics now. Today's bare-knuckled politics reminds me every day of politicians like George Wallace who were proud of manipulating voters who were filled with anger.

    Yes, but --

Exactly. Sure everybody does "it" -- but, not every party has the same priorities. LGBT became an issue because of long-standing organized efforts to demonize LGBT citizens.

How did the Grand Old Party become the party that had to identify an outgroup and demonize them? That was not Abraham Lincoln's vision. The target right now is Muslims. But, black people, LGBT, Muslims, women even -- how about a Republican party that doesn't feel the need to identify some group and demonize it? What a concept.

No, it just means that Republicans aren't all that interested in fighting Zika, and need something to sweeten the pot. Republicans are strange.

Republicans are putting poison pills in legislation so they can hit Democrats for refusing to pass help for the Zika virus. Don't fall for their game and tell your local Congress critter to pass a damned bill post haste. If they're a Republican, tell them that you're tired of this nonsense and demand they pass a "clean" bill, or you'll vote against them in November.

They need to hear from people that their dumb little game failed.

Omnibus bills can be fine, sometimes you need to wrap a bunch of stuff together. However, many riders are poison pills designed to make the other party capitulate or suffer.

Women in Florida should remember who tried to screw around with Zika funding and make sure to deliver a sound defeat to Republicans for such a dumb maneuver.
