Retina display??

    So I have the new iPhone I'm comparing screens of my old iPhone and new and I can't see much difference of the picture quality in the screens was this suppose to have a better screen

    What old phone do you have?

    The iPhone 4 and 4s are retina display so I'd say you shouldn't see much of a difference.

    in some cases comparing photos the 4/4s screen looks better to me than my 5 does.

    It's using the in-cell panel which supposedly gives better colors and what not

    But hey that's how they market it.

    The color gamut on the 5 is improved over that of the 4/4S. The PPI is unchanged.

    Which model is your old one? They didn't make the 5 "more retina". Try reading up on what they claim retina means.
