Not sure how many of you are familiar with Story Leather (http://www.storyleather.com/), but they are a small California company that makes custom and ready-made leather goods, including iPhone cases, purses and bags. I wasn't sure quite what to expect when they sent me out their leather belt clip holster and back cover for the 6 Plus to review, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of what I received. The leather is top notch, the stitching is impeccable, and it all smells wonderful. They sent me some of their ready made stuff, but they also make customized versions, where you can select the leather type and color and even specify dimensions. So if you are looking for a leather belt holster that will fit your favorite case, Story Leather can make it for you...for a price, of course. The items they sent me were:

and:

The holster costs $59.99 and will fit either a naked iPhone or one in a very slim back case, such as the Apple back cover or the one that Story Leather sent me ($39.99). Here are some pics:

And here's my YouTube review. If you are in the market for a leather case for your iPhone, you should really check them out.

Thanks!

Thanks for the tip about this case. I ordered one on Amazon and it arrived today. All I can say is WOW this case is nice. Beautiful leather and minimal design

I know...their stuff is really great. Glad to hear it is working out well for you!

Story leather case in pebble interests me. For an ability to perhaps be superior to Apple's leather. And to hide misc nicks from casual use. In a way, Apple's high price makes it an advantage for a smaller quality maker to compete.

The clip-on case I don't trust. I've seen that kind of clip work itself off while moving about and it's usually discovered missing off the person way too late.

i hear your concerns about the holster case. I think a lot of that depends upon individual use patterns. If holster type cases work well for a person, than I think the Story Leather holster is an excellent one to get.

The pebbled leather back cover perhaps has a broader appeal. It is really nicely made, and I think the pebbled texture helps the grip a great deal. Also, if you are looking for the iPhone 6 version, I noticed it can be purchased on Amazon.com for $10 less than on the Story Leather site (seller is still Story Leather, fulfilled by Amazon):

That's is why I purchased this one since the Apple leather quality is going down hill. I see a big difference in my iPhone 5 leather case compared to my iPhone 6 plus case.

When I use a case I pretty much only go for leather these days. Either my Apple leather or Sena sleeve. I personally don't like the feel of plastic or silicone/TPU on my phones, makes it feel cheap IMO and I worry about scratching with hard plastic. I've tried many this go around with the iP6. Anyways I did go ahead and pickup the Story leather case from Amazon for $30 as it looked pretty good in this review. My initial impressions are that I was surprised how hard it was. It felt straight away like the whole case was made out of plastic. Maybe the leather will soften over time, but so far it's not exactly what I like about leather cases. My Apple and Sena are very, very soft and feel so good in the hand.

It appears to be roughly the same thickness as the Apple as far as I can tell. I do like the open access to the buttons and it snaps on and off very easily. But the case is so stiff and the inside is not soft like the Apple cases. I am a bit weary about debris getting inside and scuffing up the phone. Also I'm not so crazy about the very hard lip rubbing against the aluminum during the install/removal of the phone. I could see that being a issue with this case. And of course the Apple case provides a bit more protection as the top is open on the Story which really doesn't bother me. Except it does allow for the potential of more debris getting inside the case. The jury is still out on this one for me. I do like it, looks nice on the phone but so far I do prefer my other 2 leather cases over this at the present time.

Wow, maybe you got a bad one that slipped through quality control? I was very favorably impressed with mine. The inside of the leather back cover was kind of hard, but not enough to scratch or hurt your iPhone. The outside was most definitely not plasticky. It had a very nice leather smell and soft texture. I would seriously contact Story Leather about it...

Hmmm, maybe so. I'm really surprised at how non leather like the case feels. Could soften up with use maybe. I will probably send back regardless. It was an impulse buy that I didn't need. Heck I don't even use cases that much anymore. Got to stop reading this forum, tricks me into thinking I want to try things I don't need

Sorry the case didn't work out for you!

Hey guys, if you are on the fence about these Story Leather products, I noticed via a Facebook post that they are having a 25% off sale for Mother's Day. Promo code is 'MOTHER25'...

I ordered a Custom Story Leather iPhone 6+ case. It came in the 6 weeks i was told it did and it was a great case. However after 6 weeks, it completely fell apart. The threads came undone. I like to think i wasn't that heavy of a user, but i couldn't use the case anymore. I contacted them and sent the case back (at my cost). Waiting to see what happens. But i doubt i would ever order or recommend them to anyone. "Buyer Beware".....

So they ended up refunding me what I paid for the cover. I guess they did the right thing. A little pissed, because i loved it, but it just couldn't take real everyday use. So kudos to them for at least getting me the refund!

I'm glad they did the right thing, anyway. Just curious--which StoryLeather product was it?

Sorry; I disagree.

Looks great in pictures, but quality is poor!
And their customer service is even worse than their product.

They never reply if you send them a complaint or a quality issue.

Check pictures of their product which is not at all durable.
