Just noticed that my mid 2012 retina macbook pro with LG screen is starting to get lots of image retention, now easy noticable with the solid grey color in mission control of mavericks, is there anything to do? Warranty go out before im able to get to a apple store

Go to the apple store and hopefully the Genius will have mercy on you 
How far out of warranty are you talking? A day, week, 3 months?
Be prepared to pay for the repair however, since Apple is under no compulsion to eat the repair costs themselves.
