RNC’s Plan B In Case Of Bad Mueller Report: There Is No Plan B
Members call the Russia investigation “fake” and are ready to pass a resolution giving their “undivided support” to Trump and his presidency.

As per Trump today - they all voted their undying support.

Not sure this is going to pay off for them...

Ya think? And the New York State attorney general undoubtedly has a Plan B for Trump's financial wonderments, even if that plan doesn't kick in until Trump leaves federal office one way or another. He and his scandal ridden revolving door campaign staff and administration been unmasked over and over again as time has gone on, and still the mantra is "fake" and "no collusion".

There's an old joke about how certain house fires get started because of friction between the mortgage papers and the house insurance... in the case of the ongoing self-destruction of the Republican Party, I'd say the cause is friction between reality and wishful thinking.

"No collusion" and "fake news!" are memes. The travesty of the Trump government and the associated dark realities for Americans are laid out in plain lettering of legislation and court cases for anyone to see. At the halfway mark last November, the report card from voters on this administration was already dismal in the House elections.

How can the RNC decide to go all-in for Trump 2020 while looking at that? The HFC in the House was the linchpin of Trump's ability to wag the dog. That act is pretty well shot now with Pelosi wielding the gavel. And McConnell... is seething... at Trump.

The RNC is smoking good dope again, same as when Priebus ran it. This time the Republican rank and file in the national committee should fight back while there's still plenty of time. What the RNC is trying to do now smacks of that 2015 letter on the Dem side before primaries, the one that urged Hillary Clinton to run... a letter that someone talked all the female Dem Senators into signing when some of them might otherwise have thrown their hats in the ring. Of course it had a deadening effect on potential Dem candidates outside that rarified circle as well.

I can't believe Republican party workers and would-be candidates are all going to fall for a loyalty pledge to Trump up front this time around though. It will drive independent voter support off a cliff, and that vote is needed if the Republicans are to prevail.

What’s a good plan B for the Republican Party anyways? Ron Paul isn’t running.

First we need to call it for what it is. People are still stuck on calling it “Global Warming”

It does not matter what one calls it or if it is taxed or not, what matters is that without effective change everyone will feel the effects.

People are too divide on the semantics and who is going to be stuck with the bill, what will it matter if we are all on the Titanic with no lifeboats.

We're spending so much time on the semantics, because the same deniers, now that pretty much cannot defend the denial, are shifting tactics to attack the messengers rather than the message.

It's hard to scream climate change is fake given the ongoing disruptions and unusual weather patterns caused by climate change. It became even harder when in 2019 many of the energy companies that were deniers went "my bad!" and admitted to it.

SO now it's about "but taxes!" and "but, global warming!" and "but some politicians said 12 years, they're stupid so why should I listeN"

it all boils down to the same thing. A certain amount of people from a certain political persuasion just don't care. And they refuse to accept or acknowledge any of their own culpability to the problem. They do so, because they do not want to take help responsibility to fix it.

They bitch about a tax? Fine, lets make the tax optional. But if you refuse to help pay for the climate mess they've helped contribute too, than they can't use the products and services that contribute to it. Don't wanna pay carbon tax? you don't get to drive. You don't get to use natural gas to heat your home. You don't get to use electricity during peak hours. No Air Conditioning for you. You refuse to pay for your abuse, than you don't get to abuse it.

watch, those same people will suddenly start paying the tax :p

The shocking part of if you agree or disagree that it’s normal or man-made induced, what is the harm in slowing and trying to reverse course. What other option do people believe they have cool themselves with all those dollar bills, live underwater in glass domes. Who do they believe will provide them food, materials, self-sustaining underwater you say. Yeah, I will pay to see a privileged person dawn a scuba suit to patch a leak in that glass dome.

It’s like there is a whole lot of crazy and no one is thinking logically. Let’s say this entire thing is normal well no harm done, people are clutching to man-made idea of paper wealth, smh.

People get insurance for a reason, think of this as such. Better to have it and not need it then to not and be sorry. Regardless if they pay or not we’ll all suffer.

We all share the planet, lets do our part. Taxes and other regulations are proposed to slow the human contribution to further pollution. We've made many species extinct, maybe our time is coming?

    Anyways, back to discussing T20.

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-37982000 -> lists all his election pledges and their status. lot of them remain undelivered, that's a good thing for liberals. I just hope democrats are mobilized, go out and vote in droves EVEN IF the nominated candidate isn't their favorite. That is what gave us Trump.

Actually, that is not right for that guy. He was born in Mexico, raised in Detroit and became the Governor of Massachusetts, so there is no real Utah connection.

I thought you had to be born in the USA to become (or run for) President. Maybe Obama should have asked for Mitt's birth certificate….

Romney was born in Detroit. McCain was born in Panama on a military base.

You can be born in Kathmandu and still be eligible, as long as your parents are citizens and claim US citizenship for you. Rafael “ted” Cruz was born in Calgary Alberta to an American mother and a Cuban father, yet his eligibility was never questioned (not that he ever got far enough for it to matter).

Neither was McCain because the legal language wasn't prepared for that kind of thing. I think we should all be happy Ted Cruz isn't POTUS and never will be. I don't know why he doesn't use his first name. Rafael is a charming name. Not even joking. It's a great name, and it's a derivative of the Hebrew name, Raphael.
