I'm glad this wave of anti-abortion laws that have been passed over the last 5 years has finally been crushed. 5-3 ruling, Scalia's presence wouldn't have made any difference. Major blow to the "pro-life" movement.

Bravo! Looks like Texas will have to dream up new ways to go after women's rights.

I always wonder why Republican's bother with laws trying to ban abortion. Aren't they the ones that always tell us people will find ways around laws so there is no point in enacting them?

No no no, that only applies to gun control. Nothing else, ever.

Good. Another victory for freedom and women's rights.

Always good to see the pro-theocratic fascists knocked down another peg.

They knew the law was unconstitutional but they got what they wanted. 20 clinics closed and most will are not likely to reopen. THey have to reapply for licenses and I'm sure Texas has not made that easy.

The Notorious RBG crackin' craniums again. In one single paragraph in her written opinion, she not only smacked down the legislators who crafted this vestibule of filth, but put any others who are thinking of doing the same on notice:

Gosh, what happened to all the dire threats to democracy because the SCOTUS only has eight members?

    Actually, he isn't far off.

Congress (explicitly, the Senate) isn't doing its job, by holding the hearings to either confirm or deny the appointment of a new SCOTUS justice. You know, the whole checks and balances thing they are supposed to do?

If they do that, only the bad guys will get hangars. Criminals don't obey the law, right?

The only thing that can stop a bad guy with a coat hanger is a good guy with a coat hanger!

5 members voted for it though though so the a 9th wouldn't have made a difference. That issue has validity if it was 4-4
