Apparently while campaigning in Michigan made a birther joke. He said he was born in Michigan and no one has asked for his birth certificate. Obama has already responded.

People should start asking him for his birth certificate. Then when he shows it claim it's fake and take it to the news media..

Note I said "news media" and by default this precludes Faux News.

He's lucky I'm not Pres, or I'd be firing back with the Mormon gags. Unlike Romney and I though, Obama has the required class and character to be President.

That was a HUGE mistake. The RNC starts Monday and Romney and his sarrogates will be answering abortion, rape and now birther questions for the next several days. Rational independents think birthers are crazy. And now Romney is one.

Obama's showed us his birth certificate, now Mittens should show us his tax returns.

Obama does his fair share of ribbing, but when he does, he references things that are true... like when Romney said you can't drive with a windmill on top of your car. Obama pointed out that Romney did try driving with something on his roof. (Referenced in article).

Yeah, and that's a laugh. Jokes in general are fine, jokes that are insidiously racist like the birther stuff are for bums.

Like they say, money can't buy you class.

So he doesn't have class and is not funny. Imagine how boring and offensive having dinner with Mitt would be.

Man, this guy will say WHATEVER it takes.

How on earth is asking for someones birth certificate racist? Do you even know what the meaning of racist is? That word in the last decade has become meaningless the way people use it.

Well when the only person white republicans ask for their birth certificate happens to be black then I'd say that's racist.

Why don't these nutjobs ask mitt about his birth certificate ? Why doesn't Faux News ask him ?

I wouldn't stretch to say that Romney's joke is racist, or that it ties him to the birther movement.

But you have to understand the birther movement arose from racist intentions. There's really no doubt about it.

All this shows is that Romney is an *******. Why would anyone want this tasteless man for our President? He's already shown this more than once (e.g. abroad at London Olympics).

Why is it that Obama is the only President ever to be asked for his birth certificate? Now why would they think he wasn't born here?

Oh gosh, maybe because he's a brown person with a funny name? Ya think?

Asking for a birth certificate wouldn't be racist. But here's an example of what would be.

Repeatedly claiming a black guy with a Muslim sounding name isn't from America even though he has a birth certificate to prove it. Denying the validity of that birth certificate with such intensity never seen before for any other white person in his position.

Racism isn't meaningless. It's simply more institutional and insidious than it ever was. Racists hide behind laws and innuendo now.

And of course, my favourites, racism denial. And referential racism, like birther jokes.

Didn't Romney father sneak across the border from Mexico? For all we know, Mitt could be an anchor baby.

Again, just saying he is muslim isn't racist. I don't think the birthers are racist in the true sense of the word. They are more paranoid in their beliefs.

Bigot might be a better word than racist. I would also say close minded.
