chicago suntimes the scandal, investigation and trial have been going for many years now. it all started when a tractor-trailer ran into a van and killed a family, and led to the former governor being convicted today in what's popularly known as the License for Bribes scandal. of note is that the chief prosecutor in this case was Patrick Fitzgerald, who as we all know is now working on the Valerie Plame outing. the Ryan case unfolded slowly, with Fitzgerald indicting lower-level people and turning them, working his way all the way to the top. slowly and methodically. i think this bodes well for the leak case. i'd think that bush, cheney and rove are sweating right now. a good day for justice.
