Update: Turns out some ”Experimental” features I turned off for troubleshooting powers Apple website on Safari. Turning them back on restore the page to working order. Still, Safari is not as good as people suggest. (pixiv still doesn’t work consistently for example)

Today amid the Apple shipping warning I want to see how iPhone 14 stock situation is and check availability.
And I am greeted with below, using Safari on iPadOS.

I cannot select any device I want to check, nor can I progress with any purchase.

You know, when people just keep saying “Safari is amazing”, my safari just constantly reminds me it is not.

Here is the same page displayed using Google Chrome on iPadOS. Keep in mind Chrome must use the same engine to display webpage as Safari does. I do not know why somehow Chrome can display Apple website properly while Safari cannot.

This is not a thread seeking for help on troubleshooting Safari webpage render issue. Just a bit of rant and ironic display on how horrible Safari actually is, even on Apple’s tightly controlled iOS and iPadOS platform. There is a reason why Chrome and Chromium browser is popular and supported by developers en mass, despite all the privacy invasion.
Oh on the side note, I have to attach my Magic Keyboard Folio to undo a huge Typo. Great. -_-

Rant over.

I don't mind Safari on iOS/iPadOS but it has similar issues as shown above on certain websites. Are you using an adblocker extensions on iPadOS? Lots of times that can be an issue depending on what you have activated.

Regardless, there's a reason why most website are geared towards Chromium so there's bound to be issues for browsers that don't use it such as Safari or Firefox until they gain a bigger market share.

No. The issue has nothing to do with adblockers. It’s all about those “experimental” features.

Apple’s safari marketshare is entirely contributed by their device marketshare, which isn’t amazing even after M1 release (I don’t believe the influx is good enough to swing the marketshare towards safari in big way). So yeah, not something worth bragging about. Apple used to release safari on windows, especially in windows xp era. But that time has long gone.
