safari randomly shuts down on me

it'll close and go back to home screen....does it do this for anyone else ever? 4s with latest update

Sounds like it's crashing. Are you browsing anything specific. You say random, but is it the same web page? Similar content? 100% of the time? etc...

Not that you can do much about it, but can sometimes find out what's causing the crash by going to :

Settings>general>about>diagnostics and usage>diagnostics and usage data

I find that when safari crashes on me it's usually a low mem error. I am now able to avoid most of those crashes by being mindful of my multi-tabbed browsing and by ensuring apps really close (double tap home button)

That's what having just 512MB of RAM in iPhone 4(S) does to you.
