I like Top Sites and was disappointed when the feature disappeared in Safari 14.

It was a pleasant surprise to discover Top Sites had returned in Safari 14.0.1 as shipped with Big Sur.

However it isn't QUITE the 'old' Top Sites. It's still labelled as 'Frequently Visited' in the Safari Start Page options. It seems to have picked up the Top Sites from the Top Sites '.plist' file, but there doesn't seem to be a way of re-arranging them and trying to add a new Top Site via Add Bookmark also doesn't work.

It's almost like Apple wanted to bring Top Sites back but have only half-implemented the feature.

Unless I'm missing something?

It's labelled as "Top Sites" when I open Safari. I'm confused about this as well. Don't know if they will change over time as I haven't opened some of them in a long time but they appear there because I pinned them in the previous Safari version.

Hello, my problem is that I can't edit my Top Sites at all, like I used to. When I go to preferences, I don't have Top Sites as an option, only favorites. So I can't even begin to access/edit my Top Sites options. I'm on Safari 14.0.2, can you help me?

I am also still trying to establish/reestablish my top sites. As mentioned above I can't edit anything. Would appreciate any info regarding how to proceed. Thanks.
