Caught this at NPR this morning, and thought it would be a good topic to discuss outside of the daily political rehash we keep doing. Growing up, I was in the mix with nearly every group of people. I headbanged with the metalheads. I danced with the kids on the street, whether that be in baggy pants with kids on the street, or wearing suits that would make Steve Harvey proud. Metal, pop, (old school) hip hop, I loved it all. But back then we had limits, especially on 'how low can you go'. Back then, even with baggy pants, they were still at the waist; if I couldn't keep them at my waist, I wasn't wearing them out of the house. Now, we have serious sagging, and some serious backlash. It's a bit lengthy, but have a read. http://www.npr.org/blogs/codeswitch...-the-long-history-of-dangerous-street-fashion So what do you think about sagging? self-empowered, thug life street cred, or dangerous fashion, looking for something to happen?
