Hi, I want to upgrade my monitor. My Current monitor is Samsung ls24d300. Which I bought long time ago without knowing anything because it was just there at the shop.

I don't know about all this UHD, 144ph, Retina display, 1980x5403 weird numbers and 4k, 5k or other words that appears when discussing monitor. I'm a total tech noob. All I ever did with monitors are just plug and use. I don't really touch any of the settings and stuff..

What I want is:

  1. GOOD graphics for playing my PS4 and working with my MacBook.
  2. Something that could make my eyes feel comfortable and not tired. Like in my Macbook I think there is a function that adjust the monitor brightness and stuff depending on the surroundings so my eyes will feel comfortable and not get tired..
  3. 27 inch. My current monitor is 24 inch, but I would like to try 27. I once tried 32 but I felt that is too big, and I feel my eyes get tired more..maybe because more electricity beams reflects due to the bigger screen ?

I'm currently looking at the Dell U2720Q. I like that it could charge my MBP 2018 15 with a single USB C and use it as a display. No more dongle.. Also has a HDMI for my PS4.But I'm not sure about if this monitor will satisfy the number 1,2 aspects...

Let me know you what you think !

Thank you.

I can't comment on the U2720Q directly, but I can say that I have a U2718Q (slightly older) monitor that I attach to my Mac via a TB3 hub to an HDMI connection to the monitor. The U2718Q is by far the best monitor I have ever owned. It has the most pleasing color or any monitor I have worked with and is the easiest on the eyes of any monitor I have used. My other monitors can be pretty harsh with their colors, but the U2718Q is excellent. I would hope that the U2720Q is just as nice if not better.
