Hi,
I have the problem that if the backlight of the keyboard dimms and illuminates again, the screen hangs for one second or so.
When I‘m looking a video on youtube for example and the keyboard backlight dimms to zero because I didn’t move the mouse for a while and I then want to close the full screen and move the mouse, the picture of the video will hang or stop for that time the keyboard backlight need to light up again. The sound plays normal in background.
I reseted the SMB but it doesn‘t solve the problem. I also looked up, that only one graphics card is in use. Only the integrated is in use at the time I‘m looking the video, so a graphicscard-switch isn‘t the problem. :/

May someone try to confirm and readjust the problem on their mashine? My mashine is an MacBook Pro 2016 (Intel i7 6700HQ, AMD Radeon Pro 460).

Looking forward to your experiences or comments,

Xardas

same here on a 2017 MBP
when keyboard lights and Touch Bar turn off or dim, upon scrolling and waking these up I notice an initial short lag

Okay, thank you for confirming this. Then this is not a fault of my machine. Why this happens? The machine has enough power..?!

it is for sure a software glitch or you can call it a feature :)
I also hope it gets fixed

I'm wondering why nobody mentioned this bug before..?! It's so obvious and present if the screen hangs for one second because the keyboard backlight lights up again when it was dimmed. Mhh, but you're right. Hopefully it gets fixed in a future update of MacOS.

I've just noticed something very weird: this apparently only happens with the application in foreground.

To test this, open a video on YouTube and set the backlight timeout to 5 seconds. Leave the browser in foreground ("focused") with the video playing, wait until the backlight is off and touch the trackpad - the video lags... Now, pull up another application to the foreground (I tested with the keyboard settings window), obviously making sure it doesn't cover the whole browser window, so you can still see the video running in the background. Do the same process again: wait until the backlight is off and touch the trackpad - BAM, no lagging. :wat:

Sorry for the late response but I was very buisy with my examen. Mh, now on Mojave its the same issue as on High Sierra. Weird. This bug is so obvious and isn‘t fixed since then? :(
