Hello,

Anyone know of a screensaver, third party perhaps, that I can use on my Mac
to use a collection of photos i have, and allows for slowing down the switching time ?

Not the Desktop switching, which the Mac allows variable switching
times to be set.

I'm interested in making the Screen Saver switching time Much slower, so
it is actually possible to "enjoy" the photos.

Apparently, it is not possible to adjust the Screen Saver switching time, which
is way, way, too fast.

There have been suggestions how to change the Registry, and other programming techniques to do this, but I am not competent enough to even try.

Any suggestions ? (does Catalina, e.g., allow it ?)

Thanks,
Bob

Isn't this the same question as https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/screen-saver-switching-time-making-slower.2212947/
I can confirm that it's working. Just open Terminal (/Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app), copy-paste the code below, then press return
Code:
/usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Print JustASlide:mainDuration" /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Slideshows.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Content/EffectDescriptions.plist
to find out the current value and
Code:
sudo /usr/libexec/PlistBuddy -c "Set JustASlide:mainDuration 10" /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Slideshows.framework/Versions/A/Resources/Content/EffectDescriptions.plist
to change it to 10 seconds.
If you want to revert or use another time, just replace 10 from the second code with the desired value.
