Searching nfs mounted through disk utility

Hi all,

I have a nas mounting over nfs to /nazbox

I want to make this drive indexed by finder; I have tried the mdutil command to add it but I get errors. I have also run a mdutil -sa to see what is availbe to index and /nazbox doesn't display (same thing if I mount to /network/nazbox or /volumes/nazbox).

So what do I have to do to make this show up as an option in mdutil -sa?

I've tried running the commands with sudo and no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have full access to the share, share is running on a freenas server 0.7 - with maproot set in the NFS config file.

Outputs

$ sudo mdutil -i /Nazbox/

Any thoughts on this?

Need to index a nfs share mounted at root level.

Happy to move this to /network or /share if someone can confirm it will work.

I'd also like to know how to index an NFS mount so that searches for files in Finder turn up results. Whenever I use mdutil -s it states "No index." and attempting to start an index either with "-E" or "-i on", I get an "Error: invalid operation. No index." message. I've tried running it as the owner of the share (root) to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Note that I'm running Snow Leopard, not Lion, but this problem seems to have persisted across many OSX versions and I figure the fix is likely the same (at least I hope).
