Press shift+F9 (or any other Exposé key) and watch the Exposé animation in slow motion
Neat! I never knew you could do that! Wow.
add that to the list of completely useless but kinda cool facts
I figured this out after realizing shift-minimize makes things slow motion.
You want something REALLY cool? The same trick work with the minimize to dock button (shift-click it for a slow minimize to dock). So:
Open a window. Any window. Open Terminal, but situate the Terminal window so the minimize button on the first window is still visible. Type "killall Dock" into the terminal, but don't hit enter yet. Shift-click the minimize button (still keeping the terminal window as the front window), and *BEFORE* the window being minimized touches the dock hit enter. Witness the coolness.
Uhh, what happens?
yup it also works with dashboard...
Try it and see!
Fine, spoilsport. The window will freeze in its partially minimized state. It'll still function as a window (although some of the mouse controls won't be where they look like they should), it'll just be distorted. Once you close the window (using command-w, or the close button if you can find it), things will return to normal. All the Terminal command does is relaunch the dock.
total w00tn355. seriously, it's awesome! i just tried it!
Hey, that is cool.
Shift has been known to make all OS X animation go in slow motion since it was in beta.
EXCEPT THE RIPPLE! How cool would that have been
Humm... I still haven't see the ripple. Oh wells.
Edit: Funny quote in your sig there blaskillet. Ya know, a 17" 1GHz G4 with 512 MB RAM works for me.
Sweet. I'm currently typing this in a really messed up window!
I'll definitely do this next time an unsuspecting Windows using friend is over.
I cant stand it anymore...yet another stupid word from the cyberworld....
"woot' what does it mean???????
Don't forget, its much more efficient if you use exposé
I've known about this for a while, but I never tried it with dashboard. Pretty cool! Gotta love these little hidden tricks.
Now that is a cool tip. Watching my widgets fly in is awesome...
Yes. Tabs in Safari also help.
The widgets in slow motion are neat too.
Scoff! You don't have to be a pure geek to screw up windows in XP! Any old user can wreck the GUI, you don't need any of this Terminal crap.
Can also minimize etc with it
You learn something new everyday . . .
Thankfully this time its something worth knowing
What's really fun to do is open about 100 text documents and hit F9. Then wait... wait... and wait some more. In about 5 minutes, your computer should be done orgnizing all the documents in Expose.
