Have you seen this? www.thisdayinmusic.com

It shows you what was No.1 in the charts on the day you were born.

(Go to Birthday No.1 at the top of the site, it’s free, you don’t have to log in).

My number 1's are
'You're So Vain' by Carly Simon in the US
'Long Haired Lover From Liverpool' by Little Jimmy Osmond in the UK

Loads of other good music trivia on the site as well.

:)

the only thing that should be important today in music
is the tragedy of kurt cobain.

he/his music is sadly missed.

Like a Virgin - Madonna

Sheesh - I clearly remember that being in the charts - I must be getting old.

Actually I am. Mine are:
UK - Help, The Beatles
US - I got you babe, Sonny and Cher

I was a high school teacher in New York when Cobain died. My students asked me what I thought about it, and I had to say I didn't even know who he was. I think I lost a lot of respect from them that day! And, I'm from Seattle

Rain Drops Keep Fallin' On My Head - B . J Thomas

Living a place where it rains 250 days a year this seems suiting... :D

Edit: When I try my girlfriend's date of birth I get:

Honky Tonk Woman - Rolling Stones

...nuff said... :D

14.2.83 in the UK: Too Shy - Kajagoogoo.
14.2.01 - my 18th: Whole again - Atomic kitten.

Choice. The American ones, btw, were bizarre and unknown to me.
